Pakistan’s sprinter Faiqa fails in Paris, knocking him out of another medal contest.

The qualification format called for the top three competitors from each heat to move on to the first round, followed by five additional competitors with the next best timings.

While Faiqa Riaz finished the 100 meters in 12.49 seconds, she was unable to do any of the previously mentioned feats to guarantee his qualification.

Before that, swimmers Ahmed Durrani and Jehanara Nabi, as well as shooters Kishmala Talat and Gulfam Joseph from Pakistan, were unable to advance farther in the present Olympics in Paris.

Joseph and Kishmala participated in the 10 meter air pistol mixed doubles event; however, they were unable to advance to the subsequent round.

Pakistan’s shooters only managed to score 571 out of 600, placing them in 14th place out of 17.

Consequently, Gulfam Joseph and Kishmala Talat, two shooters from Pakistan, have been eliminated from all 10 meter air pistol events.

Kishmala, on the other hand, will compete for Pakistan in the 25-meter pistol women’s qualification on August 2 and the 25-meter rapid fire pistol men’s qualification on August 4.

Recall that the shooters Gulfam Joseph and Kishmala Talat from Pakistan had an unfavorable start to their 2024 Olympic campaign in Paris when they were unable to advance to the 10 meter air pistol finals in their respective divisions.

Similarly, in swimming, neither Durrani nor Jehanara were able to advance to the following round for their respective nations.

Unfortunately, Ahmed Durrani placed last in his heat while competing in the men’s 200-meter freestyle swimming event.

Later, out of 25 swimmers, he finished in the 25th position. His time was eleven seconds behind that of the swimmer who qualified for the final semifinal spot.

Out of thirty swimmers, Jehanara Nabi came in 26th place in the women’s 200-meter freestyle competition. She made a great effort, but it was not enough to get her into the top 16.
