On Defense Day, CJCSC and Service Chiefs honor martyrs and their families.

On the 60th Defence and Martyrs’ Day, the Armed Forces of Pakistan pay their respects and tribute to the brave martyrs and their families through Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff; General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC); Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M), Chief of the Naval Staff; and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, NI (M), HJ, Chief of the Air Staff.

The unwavering will and unyielding spirit of the Pakistani people are embodied on September 6, 1965. On this momentous day, our valiant soldiers, backed by the nation, repelled the evil plans of an adversary vastly superior in numbers and weaponry by standing like an impregnable wall against overt attack. A statement released by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated, “The acts of valiant bravery and sacrifice left an enduring message on the sands of time, that a united nation can never be defeated.”

Future generations are still motivated by the bravery of our fearless warriors, and their legacy will endure forever. The nation honors and salutes its martyrs, ghazis, and their tenacious families today for their unmatched sacrifices made for this great nation’s security.

In addition to being unwavering in their opposition to terrorism and outside aggression, Pakistan’s armed forces have always stood by their citizens during natural catastrophes and other crises. The Armed Forces will mark Defence and Martyrs Day with the utmost humility and offer their full support to those affected by the recent floods throughout Pakistan.

We reaffirm today our commitment to upholding the holy duty that the country has given to us. The Pakistani military is always on guard and ready to protect the nation from any danger. We will respond appropriately and forcefully to any attempt to disturb our hard-won tranquility. May the Almighty Allah continue to grant Pakistan strength, peace, and stability.
