Significant rainfall and hailstorms are anticipated in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on April 18 and 19.

The National Disaster Management Authority’s (NDMA) National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall, windstorms, thunderstorms, and scattered hailstorms in various regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from the evening of April 18 to April 19, 2025.
The regions anticipated to experience rainfall and hailstorms encompass Malakand Division, Hazara Division, Bannu, Charsadda, Karak, Khyber, Kohat, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Mardan, Nowshera, Orakzai, Peshawar, Swabi, and Waziristan.
Intense precipitation, windstorms, thunderstorms, and sporadic hailstorms are anticipated, presenting hazards to infrastructure, transportation, and agricultural operations.
It cautioned that precipitation in the form of rain or snow could induce landslides or avalanches in the mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It stated that essential roadways in these regions may encounter obstructions from landslides or snow accumulation, and that intense rainfall might also induce flash floods.
The NDMA advised individuals to verify road conditions prior to travel, especially in hilly regions such as Hazara Division and Malakand Division.
Tourists are encouraged to consistently check weather forecasts for updates regarding rain and thunderstorms. It also urged individuals to refrain from non-essential travel during severe weather or heavy precipitation.
“Remain alert in areas susceptible to landslides and avalanches, and comply with safety directives from local authorities,” it stated.
The NDMA advises the public to implement essential steps to mitigate the dangers linked to extreme weather conditions.
