As the water level rises, the Rawal Dam spillways will open.

-The district administration opened the dam’s spillways on Sunday (today) at 8am after heavy rains in Islamabad and the neighbouring areas filled Rawal Dam to a level of 1,751.80 feet.

The district administration has issued a warning due to heavy rains. Rawal Dam spillways will open today at 8am, according to a statement from the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) government.

The district government instructed all pertinent departments to stay vigilant in order to handle any emergency situation and cautioned residents from going to low-lying regions.
In the meantime, a high alert has been issued by the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) due to exceptionally high levels of flooding in the Sutlej, Chenab, and hill torrent rivers.

Within the next 24 hours, Panjnad is predicted to see an abnormally high flood, according to Director General PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia. At Ganda Singh Wala, he continued, the Sutlej River will continue to experience exceptionally high levels of flooding. According to data supplied by PDMA and other authorities on Saturday regarding the water situation in the rivers, the flood situation in Ravi, Chenab, and Sutlej is still present.
