In Multan, a rescue boat overturns, killing four people.

According to officials, a rescue boat overturned close to the Jalalpur Pirwala neighbourhood of Multan, drowning at least four persons, including a woman, in the Chenab River.

Rescue officials say the boat lost balance in deep waters and overturned while moving more than 25 people to a safer area.

Four people drowned before they could be saved, despite efforts to save them.

Bakht Suwai, 70, Fatima, 6, Mahnoor, and Rehan were identified as the victims.

The remains were recovered from the river by rescue crews and locals, and the rest of the population was securely evacuated to a safe area.

The fatal tragedy was caused by the boat losing balance after going into deeper seas, according to witnesses.

Investigations and rescue efforts are being carried out in the area by the authorities.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) had reported that the recent floods and rainfall had killed 907 persons.
