Since February 10 PM, there have been no polio cases reported.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was told that since February 10, 2025, there hasn’t been a single polio case registered in the nation due to the intense national anti-polio activities.
The prime minister, who chaired the review meeting on polio eradication today, praised the work being done by partners, foreign organizations, and appropriate government institutions to eradicate polio in Pakistan.
He gave the appropriate authorities instructions to guarantee community mobilization and awareness of the nationwide anti-polio campaign.
He went on to say, “During the anti-polio campaign beginning on April 21, it must be ensured that every child under the age of five receives the polio vaccine.”
He underlined that in addition to the campaign, routine immunization should be completely guaranteed countrywide to defend against other serious diseases.
“The anti-polio campaign workers are playing a frontline role in the fight against this disease despite challenging conditions,” the prime minister said, adding that he and the rest of the country were proud of the diligent polio workers.
The prime minister was informed during the discussion about the impending anti-polio campaign, which would see 4.5 million youngsters receive the polio vaccine between April 21 and April 27.
During this nationwide program, 415,000 polio workers will take part. The group was also told that the campaign’s third-party validation will be finished between April 28 and April 30, per the prime minister’s directives.
Additionally, a digital system is being used to track the anti-polio campaigns’ cold chain.
The meeting was attended by the chief secretaries of all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, National Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal, Prime Minister’s Special Representative on Polio Ayesha Raza Farooq, Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal, representatives of international partners, and other high-ranking officials.
