Azad Jammu Kashmir’s terror network was discovered, and important people were taken into custody.

During a joint news conference, Inspector General Rana Abdul Jabbar and Interior Minister Waqar Noor of Azad Kashmir disclosed a sinister plot by criminals to disturb the calm in the region.
Minister Waqar Noor claims that some groups are acting in the name of promoting rights when, in reality, they are working for evil goals. “The investigation started after a tragic incident at the Shujaabad checkpoint on October 27, 2024, where Constable Sajjad Resham was martyred in a targeted firing attack,” he stated.
A number of suspects were found during the investigation, including Hanzala alias Ulfat, Usama alias Muhammad, and Zarnosh Naseem alias Qasim. Saqib Ghani, a suspect, was apprehended at the Azad Pattan entry point on March 19, 2025, while carrying a cache of heavy weaponry. He admitted to having connections to Zarnosh and other subversive groups while being questioned.
The interior minister went on to say that the suspects attempted to burn down the City Bagh police station in addition to being engaged in the murder of Sajjad Resham. They were also responsible for attacks on the Sangjani Toll Plaza and the Islamabad Motorway Police.
Investigations also showed that sensitive sites were the target of planned attacks. Usama, one of the suspects, voluntarily turned himself in after learning the genuine purpose of the gang. Authorities found firearms and grenades after he came forward.
The accused admitted to organizing and carrying out multiple acts of sabotage throughout Azad Kashmir during questioning. The entire scope of their network has also been made public by their video claims. Ghazi Shehzad, a major suspect who broke out of Rawalakot Jail, is still at large. It has been established that he has ties to adversarial organizations in Afghanistan.
Waqar Noor also named Abdul Rauf, a terrorist based in Afghanistan, who, along with the notorious figure “Fitna al-Khoraj,” has been misleading vulnerable youth in the name of jihad and Sharia. According to intelligence reports, some of these disruptive groups may have received funding, shelter, and training from India.
According to the minister, there is hard proof that concerted planning is responsible for the recent disruptive events in Azad Kashmir. These groups are being supported by those who are being sued.
He emphasized that the peace in Azad Kashmir is the result of tireless efforts by the country’s security institutions. He urged citizens to remain vigilant against all forms of incitement and to support law enforcement agencies in maintaining law and order.
