Pakistan is dedicated to democracy, the rule of law, and the supremacy of the constitution: Barrister Aqeel

Pakistan was represented by Barrister Aqeel, Minister of State for Law and Justice, at the 63rd Annual Session of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO), which took place in Uganda.

According to a news release, the minister’s speech emphasized Pakistan’s fundamental position on the right to self-determination and reiterated the country’s strong commitment to democracy, the rule of law, and constitutional supremacy.

Barrister Aqeel called for changes to the global legal and economic order to guarantee equality and fairness while highlighting the catastrophic effects of climate change on impoverished countries. He also emphasized how important it is for poor nations to actively participate in establishing standards for data protection, artificial intelligence, and digital governance.

The minister met with the Somalian justice minister and the Saudi state minister on the margins of the session to discuss issues of mutual interest and bilateral legal cooperation.
