CM Maryam surveys flood-affected areas in Jalalpur Pirwala from the air.

– Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, flew over Multan and Jalalpur Pirwala on Wednesday to observe the flood-affected areas up close.
She had already been to Multan on September 3, thus this was her second visit in less than a week. She flew over the flood-affected areas during today’s visit to assess the ground condition.
In the meantime, the situation in South Punjab has remained tense due to the heavy flow in the River Chenab, and India has once again released more water into the River Sutlej, making the crisis worse.

However, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has been instructed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to do everything possible in relief efforts.
More aid has already been sent by the NDMA to Punjab’s impacted residents.
Officials report that 20 trucks carrying relief goods departed Islamabad on Wednesday for the districts affected by the floods. The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) will receive the items and distribute them.
