Pakistan wants to work with China more closely in space: PM

Pakistan is eager to expand its collaboration with China in the areas of space technology, space satellites, telecommunications, and satellite internet, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who on Tuesday referred to China as a strategic partner and a highly trusted friend.
In a meeting with a delegation from Galaxy Space, a Chinese space technology business headed by Chairman Xu Ming, the prime minister stated that Pakistan placed a high value on the space technology industry.
The members of the team also demonstrated a strong desire to collaborate with private telecom firms and invest in Pakistan’s space technology sector.
They informed the prime minister that their meetings with representatives from SUPARCO and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication were very beneficial and thanked the Pakistani government for their gracious hospitality.
Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, PM Dr. Tauqir Shah’s advisor, and representatives from other pertinent government agencies also attended the meeting.
