The government’s top focus continues to be protecting human life: Aurangzeb Marriyum

The government’s priority in flood-affected areas is preserving lives, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb stated on Friday.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said during the Dunya News program “Baat Niklay Gi” that prompt relief measures have prevented millions of deaths and that all institutions are making every effort to protect lives and livelihoods in all impacted areas.

She noted that food and tents are being given to those affected by the floods with the help of the local government and administration. Food is being transported by helicopter to people trapped in floodwaters, she said.

The senior minister added that the government’s first concern is still protecting human life, adding that water entered villages as a result of embankment breaches.
