A delegation from the Chinese embassy was briefed on NDMA’s flood response.

On Friday, a delegation from the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, headed by Charge d’Affaires Shi Yuanqiang, received a briefing on flood relief and response activities at the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) headquarters.
A thorough summary of relief and response efforts in impacted areas during the current monsoon was given by the Pakistan NDMA team.
The coordinated efforts with provincial governments and pertinent Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs), rescue and evacuation operations, and prompt support under Prime Minister Relief support were underlined by NDMA Chairman Lt. Gen. Inam Haider Malik.
The capabilities of NEOC, including the creation of Disaster Early Warning (DEW), risk communication, proactive measures, local simulation exercises, and the involvement of pertinent stakeholders for the application of international best practices, were described by representatives from other NDMA wings.
Shi Yuanqiang praised NDMA’s proactive efforts to lessen the effects of the monsoon, saying they are crucial for preserving lives and livelihoods as well as strengthening Pakistan’s ability to withstand the effects of climate change.
In addition, he offered his condolences for the deaths caused by floods and reaffirmed his assistance with the Pakistani government in areas devastated by flooding.
