In a blasphemy case, engineer Ali Mirza was placed on remand for seven days.

Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza has been placed on physical remand for seven days by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in connection with a case involving the damage of religious figures.

The FIA team brought Mirza before the Rawalpindi District Court under strong security. The remand was granted by Senior Civil Judge Waqar Hussain Gondal, who also directed the agency to finish its investigation and reintroduce the accused on September 19.

The FIA team took Mirza into prison and left for more questioning after the court’s ruling. Mirza’s divisive online remarks on religious issues have sparked public attention in the case.

Recall that in the Jhelum district of Punjab, a complaint has been filed against religious scholar Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza.

According to authorities, the accused was charged under Section 295-C (blasphemy statute) and the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) after a citizen called Umair made a complaint, which led to the case being filed at the City authorities Station.

The self-declared cleric Muhammad Ali has been imprisoned under the MPO 3 (Maintenance of Public Order).

To prevent any unfortunate events, Mirza’s academy has been locked, and a large police presence has been stationed outside both the academy and his home.
