A new law was implemented to prevent the illicit trafficking in rare parrots.

To conserve endangered parrot species throughout the state, Punjab Wildlife has implemented a new regulation that forbids the unlawful trade in these birds.

The policy states that parrot keepers will be required to register.

Adnan Virk, the deputy chief of wildlife for the Lahore region, stated that each parrot will receive a ring with a unique number and that there would be a Rs 1,000 registration charge.

Adnan Virk added that residents would register their parrots with the government if they kept them as a pastime.

According to the deputy chief, the parrot dealers would be registered under different headings.
