Aleema Khan regrets the decrease in CJPs’ suo motu actions.

She made the following statement regarding the Toshakhana issue: “The case is still pending.” I went to the High Court today with my attorneys.
“The Chief Justice has scheduled the hearing for September 25,” she continued, referring to the Al-Qadir Trust case.
She added that they want to petition the High Court for an early hearing in the Toshakhana-II case tomorrow.
PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, came to the Supreme Court today to deliver a letter to Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, however court security blocked her from entering the Chief Justice’s quarters.
Aleema Khan told reporters she had come to present a letter from the PTI founder to the Chief Justice, accompanied by Imran Khan’s other sisters and members of the PTI legal team. Before the group could reach the Chief Justice’s chambers, Supreme Court officers halted them.
Court security officers stated that admission was not authorized since the Chief Justice’s court sessions had already concluded and that no one could advance without prior authorization from the Registrar’s Office.
Aleema Khanum spoke against any attempt to restrict the constitutional rights of peaceful protest and petitioning public institutions. She went on to say that it is against democratic standards to deny citizens the ability to petition the judiciary.
The event highlighted the conflict between the security and procedural regulations governing admittance to judicial chambers and petitioners’ need for direct access to judicial authorities. After the event, the PTI legal team stayed at the Supreme Court.
Whether the letter will be transmitted through other authorized methods or formally submitted through the court’s registrar is still up in the air.
