The health department has suspended the salaries of doctors in response to the Grand Health Alliance protest.

The Grand Health Alliance, comprising physicians, nurses, and allied health personnel, escalated their protest today by conducting a sit-in outside the Punjab Assembly.

The protestors, expressing grievances including insufficient pay, substandard working conditions, and inadequate benefits, opted to shut down the outpatient departments of all major government hospitals in Punjab, therefore interrupting healthcare services and garnering significant attention to their demands.

In a prompt reaction to the disturbance, the Punjab Health Department mandated all medical superintendents of government hospitals to promptly suspend the salary of any healthcare personnel missing without authority.

The Health Department underscored that the remuneration of these workers will be reinstated just upon their return to their respective facilities and the resumption of their standard responsibilities.

The Health Department issued a prohibition on all leave for doctors, nurses, and allied health personnel, guaranteeing that no medical staff may take time off during the continuing protest.

They have been directed to resume their responsibilities without delay, with the department cautioning that noncompliance may result in additional disciplinary measures.
