Hammad Azhar withdraws his SC appeal against the rejection of his nomination papers.
ISLAMABAD: According to ARY News on Wednesday, PTI politician Hammad Azhar has dropped his Supreme Court petition against the rejection of his nomination papers from NA-129.
Hammad Azhar does not choose to pursue his appeal against the rejection of his nomination papers, a junior attorney informed the court.
The former PTI government federal minister’s nomination papers were denied by an appeal body.
Mansoor Ali Shah, the judge, questioned the high court’s decision to use Article 62(i)-F. Justice Shah said, “The verdict has been clear that the Article 62 (i)-F not applicable by itself.”
Aftab Yasir, the attorney, stated that the court’s ruling also addressed a declared offender’s eligibility.
“Hammad Azhar will not benefit from the court decision as a result of his withdrawal of his appeal,” Justice Shah stated.
“Seems like Hammad Azhar is unwilling to give up,” Judge Jamal Mandokhel said.
“Surrender seems to be beneficial,” the attorney stated.
