Ten million accounts are opened by BISP in an effort to combat poverty.

These accounts are currently inactive, but they will be activated as soon as beneficiary payments are scheduled to be made, according to the reports.

Authorities updated members on the status of BISP’s financial integration during a recent meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on poverty reduction, which was presided over by MNA Lamm Ali Talpur.

Six banks currently work with BISP, and attempts are underway to link all banks using the One-Link system in order to expedite transactions.

The State Bank of Pakistan’s Deputy Governor affirmed that BISP beneficiaries now have full access to regular banking services, such as deposits and remittances, and can withdraw money from any bank that is currently in operation.

However, depending on the bank and transaction mode, beneficiaries may be required to pay bank withdrawal fees that range from Rs 100 to Rs 200.

In order to maintain transparency and minimize abuse, this procedure will mostly not include agents.

Digital payments continue to present difficulties, particularly for female beneficiaries, the BISP Chairperson emphasized.

The BISP Secretary informed the committee that one crore accounts had been opened in four months in accordance with the Prime Minister’s order.

The second stage, which would involve the implementation of digital transactions, is anticipated to be finished in six months.

In 2025, BISP launched a new payment method. Beneficiaries’ bank accounts will now receive Rs. 13,500 straight, with no further fees or agent deductions.

The goal of this project is to support women and advance financial inclusion in Pakistan.
