PTI responds to the defense pact between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan

“The party sees the development as a reaffirmation of the historic and deeply — rooted in Islamic brotherhood, shared strategic interests, and longstanding mutual support,” PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram said in a statement posted on X.

“There is a great deal of potential to improve bilateral relations and regional stability by fortifying defense and security cooperation between the two brotherly nations,” the statement said.

According to Akram, Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI, has always envisioned Pakistan as a country that fosters international collaboration, unites the Muslim world, and improves the chances for peace.

The purity and protection of the Harmain-ul-Sharifain (the two Holy Mosques) are fundamental to the faith of every Pakistani, he continued, adding that the country views a deeper strategic engagement with Saudi Arabia as a vital step toward Muslim unity and collective security.

In the statement, PTI expressed its heartfelt appreciation for the Kingdom’s continuous support of the Pakistani people and reiterated its unwavering commitment to Pakistan’s strategic cooperation with Saudi Arabia.

In conclusion, the statement said, “We think that better cooperation between the two brotherly nations will promote peace, stability, and prosperity not only for our two brotherly nations, but also for the wider region and the world.”
