Amid tensions between India and Pakistan, the PTI’s top council urges national unity.

In a joint statement released Monday, the political and core committees of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) emphasised that Pakistan is at a pivotal moment and declared India to be a major threat to regional peace.

In view of mounting security worries about Indian provocations, the statement emphasised the necessity for dependable leadership and appealed for national unity.

Tensions between India and Pakistan are rising at the moment of the PTI declaration. A high alert has been issued in reaction to India’s threats, the party said. The statement emphasised the need for national unity in these trying times and the need for the nation’s leadership to maintain their vigilance.

The statement referenced PTI’s position on peace without sacrificing national security, saying, “The founder’s message is clear: Peace remains our priority, but it must not be misinterpreted as cowardice.” The party stressed that although peace initiatives are important, they shouldn’t be interpreted as a sign of weakness in the face of outside threats.

PTI argued that the country is being run by a “silent and inattentive government,” which is unable to properly safeguard the nation’s sovereignty, and criticised the way the current government has responded to these external challenges. The party maintained that Pakistan’s defence and unity during this crucial period could only be guaranteed under the leadership of Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI.

The PTI founder, who is presently being held in solitary confinement, was also called for to be released immediately in the joint statement. It stated that “the founder’s leadership is indispensable at such a time,” calling Imran Khan’s ongoing arrest a “injustice” and a “anti-national” move in the current crisis.

PTI made it apparent that the people of Pakistan agreed with their demand for Imran Khan’s release. In the face of external challenges, the party underlined that the country is united in its need for a strong and effective leadership that can protect the nation’s sovereignty and address national security issues.
