Pakistan partially shuts down its airspace in Lahore and Karachi.

A new NOTAM (notice to airmen) on the closure of specific areas of the airspace in both cities has been issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).
A NOTAM states that certain areas of the cities’ airspace will be closed every day between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM from May 1 to May 31, 2025.
The decision was made for security considerations, according to aviation sources.
To guarantee seamless operations, air traffic controllers will direct planes in accordance with the new routes for commercial flight operations.
Authorities stressed that despite the limited limitations, planes are expected to continue operating as usual and that flight schedules will not be significantly impacted.
