Sarfraz Dogar, Chief Justice of the IHC, was appointed to the Supreme Judicial Council.

Justice Sarfraz Dogar, the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, has been appointed to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
The Council is anticipated to hold a meeting to discuss complaints against judges, according to sources. Chief Justice Yahya Afridi will preside over the meeting.
The Judicial Council’s meeting is set for mid-October, according to further sources. The review of outstanding complaints against judges and disciplinary actions are probably going to be the main items on the agenda.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar was the target of a formal harassment complaint brought by attorney Imaan Mazari.
The internal harassment inquiry committee of the court has received the complaint.
Mazari claims that Chief Justice Dogar made threatening and gender-based comments to her during a recent courtroom exchange, and she has asked for an official investigation under the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act. She pleaded with the committee to decide if the Chief Justice’s actions qualified as harassment.
Mazari also demanded in her complaint that the Supreme Judicial Council, which has the jurisdiction to handle accusations against sitting judges, be tasked with handling the case.
This incident raises concerns about accountability and behavior inside the higher judiciary and represents a rare public challenge to judicial power.
