PPP has Sharifs’ endorsement for the president

On Tuesday, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz made the decision to back the Pakistan Peoples Party’s nominee for the president-by-constitution.

Following discussions with top party officials and former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif instructed the party leaders to back the PPP nominee for the presidency.

In a day or two, the PML-N is expected to publicly declare its endorsement of the PPP presidential candidate, according to sources.

Following a consultation with Nawaz Sharif over future negotiations, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif departed for Islamabad.
