Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf refute allegations of ICC misconduct.

Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf of Pakistan made an appearance before the International Cricket Council (ICC) to respond to accusations of violating the code of conduct, but they vehemently denied the accusations made against them.

Both players were accused of making offensive gestures on the field during the Asia Cup match against India, which sparked the complaint.

Farhan shaped his bat into a faux gun and pretended to shoot in celebration of his half-century in the well-publicized match. Haris Rauf, a fast bowler, was charged of making a hand signal that resembled an airplane crash while fielding close to the boundary and after dismissing an Indian batsman. The investigation was prompted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) formally complaining to the ICC despite India winning the match.

The hearing at the ICC

Referee Richie Richardson asked both players a lot of questions regarding their behavior after they made their claims. According to sources, both cricket players vehemently denied the charges in their written responses. Farhan clarified that such emotions are typical in Pashtun culture and contended that his celebration was neither political nor directed at India.

Insiders claim that Richardson particularly questioned Rauf regarding the “6-0” gesture. Rauf retorted that there was no proof to back up the accusations and asked for an explanation of how the ICC interpreted the signal. At one point, when the referee said his gesture might have implied something else, Rauf pushed him to explain what exactly it represented. He asserted that his acts were directed simply towards the crowd and carried no other message.

Pakistan has also filed a protest against Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav on their own. In its comprehensive decision, the ICC reportedly censured him and is contemplating a monetary fine, indicating that the investigation was not restricted to one side of the conflict.
