A portion of PM Shehbaz’s trip to the US
The interior minister is traveling to the United States with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s delegation. High-level interactions have taken place during the visit, including discussions between the Prime Minister and American leadership where topics such as economic ties, regional security, and wider bilateral cooperation were covered.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance on regional peace and international justice in a speech at the UNGA.
PM Shehbaz claims that “India will always remember our response.”
He claimed that India had breached Pakistan’s sovereignty by rejecting Pakistan’s offer of an unbiased probe into the Pahalgam attack. Pakistan even nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his prompt involvement, the prime minister said, highlighting the role that then-US President Donald Trump played in mediating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
PM on terrorism and Palestine
Shehbaz urged immediate action on Palestine on the international scene, emphasizing that “Palestine can no longer remain under Israeli chains and must be freed with full force.”
He emphasized the sacrifices made by Pakistan, stating that the nation had lost about 90,000 citizens in the fight against terrorism. He pledged to keep up operations against prohibited organizations such as Majid Brigade, Fitna-ul-Hindustan, Fitna-ul-Khawarij, TTP, and BLA.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fighting extremism by saying, “The fight will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.”
