The US reiterates its offer of mediation to settle the Kashmir problem.

According to the US State Department, the US wants the Kashmir dispute to be settled peacefully and has urged Pakistan and India to engage in discussions to do so.

“The United States, if mediation is offered on the Kashmir dispute, we are ready,” the US State Department stated, stating that the problem is a direct conflict between India and Pakistan. Negotiations can be used to address the Kashmir conflict. The truce between India and Pakistan was facilitated by the United States.

“We appreciate Pakistan’s initiative to extradite terrorists,” the US State Department said. A positive beginning to relations was the extradition of the terrorist who murdered Americans.

The United States claims that although “our relations with Pakistan and India are of different nature,” it is working to advance its interests with both countries, according to the State Department.
