Petitioners challenging three Karachi NA seat election results are denied by the ECP.
The ECP instructed petitioners to file a challenge at an electoral tribunal against the results of three Karachi constituencies: NA-237, NA-239, and NA-241.
Asad Alam Niazi, Nabil Gabol, and Mirza Ikhtiar Baig of the People’s Party have taken three seats in Karachi.
The PTI-backed Independent Zahoor Ud Din in NA-237, Mohammad Yasir in NA-239 Lyari, and Khurram Sher Zaman in NA-241 had their applications denied by the electoral commission.
Asad Alam Niazi of the PPP-P received 40836 votes, according to the election results, with Zahoor Ud Din of the PTI continuing to finish second.
Nabil Gabol, the candidate of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), won the National Assembly constituency (NA-239) for Lyari with 40,077 votes, 2,843 more than the next closest independent candidate, Mohammad Yasir, who was endorsed by the PTI and received 37,234 votes.
Khurram Sher Zaman, an independent supported by the PTI, lost the NA-241 election to Mirza Ikhtiar Baig of the PPP. Baig received 52,456 votes, leading Khurram Sher Zaman by 3,846 votes. Khurram Sher Zaman finished in second place with 48,610 votes.
