The Punjab government grants Rs. 2 billion for CCD offices and cars.

The Punjab government gave the Counter Terrorism Department (CCD) Rs2 billion on Thursday so that it could build offices and police stations throughout vulnerable districts and buy new, modern cars.

Officials say the initial funding phase will pay for the acquisition of armored transporters, high-roof vans, and double-cabin and bulletproof vehicles for usage in critical areas.

Similar vehicles will be made available to “B category” districts in the upcoming phase, with additional funding anticipated.

Construction of police stations and offices

In addition to purchasing vehicles, the survey procedure for building police stations and CCD offices has started. Reports for new construction in places including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, and Multan are reportedly being prepared, according to sources.

CCD has made demands for six residential complexes, 40 offices, and 38 police stations. According to police sources, the construction project will cost approximately Rs11 billion.
