October 30 Senate by-election after Shibli Fraz’s disqualification

A by-election will be place on October 30 to fill the Senate General seat that became empty after Senator Shibli Fraz was disqualified, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) stated on Thursday.
Following Fraz’s disqualification from office, which necessitated an election to replace him, the decision was made.
An official announcement states that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly building would host voting on October 30.
According to the ECP, the electoral process will begin on October 7 with the issuance of a public notice.
Nomination papers can be turned in by candidates between October 8 and October 9. On October 10, the nominated candidate lists will be released.
Appeals against the approval or rejection of nominations must be filed by October 15; these papers will be scrutinized by October 13. The deadline for resolving appeals is October 17.
Saeed Gul, the Provincial Election Commissioner of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has been named by the Election Commission of Pakistan as the Returning Officer for the province’s next Senate election.
The official announcement states that a number of high-ranking officials will supervise the election process as polling officers.
