Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced on Tuesday that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad is anticipated to return to Pakistan on October 9 (Thursday).
Dar announced on X (previously Twitter) that the arrangements for Mushtaq’s repatriation to Pakistan have been finalized. Dar stated that he conversed with Ahmad by telephone subsequent to his arrival in Islamabad from Malaysia. The dialogue occurred via Pakistan’s Ambassador in Amman.
Dar asserted: “Former Senator Mushtaq is in robust health and excellent spirits.” He admired Mushtaq’s bravery and determination in participating in the Sumud Flotilla, which sought to breach the blockade and provide humanitarian assistance to the inhabitants of Gaza.
Dar stated that Mushtaq conveyed appreciation to the Foreign Office for enabling communication with him in Tel Aviv via a supportive European mission, as well as for ensuring comprehensive assistance and security through the Embassy in Amman.
He stated: “The Foreign Office has organized for Senator Mushtaq’s repatriation to Pakistan on October 9.”
