Strict measures are ordered by the LHC CJ regarding filming in the courtroom.

Strict punishment against people who recorded court proceedings during a hearing was mandated by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday.

Courts will not be permitted to serve as a platform for ridicule, according to LHC Chief Justice Aalia Neelum, who took a hard stand against videotaping court hearings and posting them on social media. She gave Gujranwala RPO Hafeez Cheema instructions to bring the full case file of Romaila’s alleged theft before court tomorrow.

She added that in order to preserve the honor and integrity of the legal system, cell phone use in courtrooms will be forbidden. She also voiced grave concerns about a video that was making the rounds on social media showing a civil judge’s courtroom.

The accused Romaila was questioned by the court regarding her place of residence throughout the hearing. She responded that although her temporary address is in Gujranwala, her permanent location on the CNIC is in Karachi, and she currently resides in Murree. The Chief Justice voiced worry about potential abuse of NADRA’s system and asked why the ID card had not been updated following the divorce.

In response to the accused Romaila’s unconditional apology to the court, the Chief Justice said that sorry is not a solution because too much indulgence has resulted in these kinds of situations.

She gave the RPO instructions to confirm the ID card and present a report in court the next day. After that, the hearing was postponed until the following day.
