PPP and PML-N resolve to separate from the AJK government

A political upheaval is imminent in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) as the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have resolved to exit the coalition administration in AJK.

A decision to exit the government was unanimously ratified during a meeting of the PPP’s parliamentary party and core committee members. Furthermore, three individuals have surfaced as prospective candidates for the Prime Minister’s position from the PPP.

The candidates under consideration are Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen, Haji Muhammad Yaqub, and Chaudhry Latif Akbar.

PML-N leader Shah Ghulam Qadir stated that they want to occupy the opposition rather than continue in the current government; nevertheless, he underscored that the ultimate choice will rest with the party’s central leadership.

The present coalition government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir comprises PML-N, PPP, Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party, and the Muslim Conference.
