Punjab

Seven of the 21 candidates running for Punjab’s 12 seats had their papers rejected.

Due to his dual nationality—despite having tried to relinquish his British citizenship—Zulfi Bukhari’s nomination was denied.

Zulfi Bukhari has sent a letter to the British Interior and an application to ECP to renounce his British nationality.

Sanam Javed was ineligible as a result of his papers being rejected due to his joint account with his father.

In the meantime, the nomination papers of Farzand Hussain Shah, Raja Ansar Mehmood, Mohsin Naqvi, Interior Minister Ishaq Dar, and Rana Mehmoodul Hassan have all been approved.

KP

The nomination papers for eight technocrat positions and sixteen general seat candidates have been accepted by ECP. Six nomination papers for candidates have been accepted for the women’s reserved seats.

Sindh

34 candidates submitted their nomination papers to the ECP; 17 were from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and 8 were from the MQM-P and PTI.

While MQM’s Najeeb Haroon’s nomination failed, independent contender Faisal Vawda’s papers were accepted.
