PM calls for inclusion and respect for the blind and visually impaired

The government’s commitment to providing equal rights and opportunities for people with disabilities in all spheres of society has been reaffirmed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to him, the white cane is a sign of inclusion, dignity, and resiliency in addition to being a means of mobility for the blind and visually handicapped.
Today, like the rest of the world, we honor White Cane Safety Day, which was originally observed in 1964 and has since achieved wider worldwide recognition by international organizations, the prime minister stated in his statement on the occasion of the day.
In addition to representing the freedom and mobility of people with visual impairments, this day serves as a reminder of our collective need to protect their rights and inclusion in all spheres of life.
According to him, the white cane is a potent symbol of bravery, dignity, and tenacity in addition to being a useful instrument for navigating. It serves as a reminder that empowering all of a country’s residents without exception is what really makes it strong.
The Pakistani government is still dedicated to achieving its objectives of equal education, accessibility, and inclusion. “We are committed to fulfilling our obligations under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and establishing job opportunities for people with visual impairments,” the prime minister continued.
