Maryam sends two PML-N MPAs show-cause notices.
Two PML-N MPAs have received show-cause letters from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who has requested a response from them within three days.
PML-N MPA starting at PP-152 Malik Waheed was given a show-cause notice for allegedly acting inappropriately towards a police officer who searched his car three days prior on GT Road.
Uzma Kardar, the other PML-N MPA elected to a reserved seat, received a show-cause notice for allegedly influencing the Model Town Police Station’s inquiry into a formal complaint.
In a news release, the Punjab government stated that CM Maryam had taken notice of the incident and given the MPAs a show-cause notice during a meeting with sub-inspector Naseeb.
CM Maryam expressed her regret and expressed her “embarrassement” that the officer had to endure humiliation.
“Never apologise for carrying out your responsibility. Maryam stated, “You were carrying out your task; you verified them; it was your obligation, and you fulfilled it.
She stated that no one was above the law and that “this is your job and this is why the state has kept you and you did your job well.”
“The MPA ought to have contacted us if he had a complaint. According to the inquiry report, we would have conducted an investigation and taken appropriate action, Maryam continued.
She emphasised that it is especially important for legislators to uphold the law and serve as an example for the public.
In addition, the chief minister questioned Lahore Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana on Naseeb’s purported transfer following the incident and instructed him to never act without first consulting her should a similar situation arise.
