Punjab is covered in smog as the quality of the air declines; Faisalabad has the highest AQI at 353.

According to official monitoring data, smog is still prevalent in a number of Punjabi districts, with Faisalabad recording the highest air quality index (AQI) on Saturday at 353.
Lahore came next, ranking second in the province and among the worst polluted cities in the world with an AQI of 336. Gujranwala’s AQI of 272 placed him third in Punjab.
The air quality in several parts of the provincial capital remained dangerous.
The AQI was noted as 459 in Defence, 529 in Allama Iqbal Town, 530 on Lower Mall, 663 on Ravi Road, and 559 on Mall Road.
Dangerous pollution levels have also been reported in other areas of the city, such as 455 on Upper Mall, 447 in Shalimar, 434 near Punjab University, and 404 along Sanda Road.
Due to the region’s persistently high pollution levels, authorities have advised residents to minimize their outdoor activities and wear protective masks.
