PTI head applauds the SC’s ruling on special seats for SIC
Barrister Gohar expressed optimism to reporters outside the Supreme Court following the case’s hearing that the ultimate decision will likewise be in their favour.
According to him, the ruling by the SC cost the administration a two-thirds majority. The majority does not support the government, which has failed.
“PTI has 180 seats in the National Assembly,” Gohar stated, adding that the SC should be in charge of defending the fundamental rights of the people.
He also thought that the other cases will shortly be taken up by the supreme court.
Conclusion On Monday, the Supreme Court (SC) halted the rulings of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Peshawar High Court (PHC) over the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) reserved seats.
Judge Mansoor Ali Shah, along with Justices Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Athar Minallah, made up the three-member panel that put a hold on the decision regarding the distribution of reserved seats to certain political parties.
According to Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, “we are suspending the ECP and PHC verdicts,” and the case has been scheduled for hearing.
Shah said that only the distribution of extra seats is affected by the suspension decision made today. It is important, he stressed, that Parliament appropriately reflects the mandate of the people.
