PCB chairman Naqvi addresses his previous comments on his ‘major surgery’.
During a casual discussion with journalists, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) discussed the surgical procedures within the Pakistan cricket squad, the prospects of Babar Azam as captain, and the renovation of stadiums ahead of the crucial ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
Addressing his previous remarks on surgery, the PCB chief informed reporters that he never makes decisions impulsively or out of anger. He emphasized that the surgery will really take place, but cautioned against hasty judgments, as they can lead to negative consequences.
“Individuals inquiring about surgery should refrain from making any decisions while experiencing anger.”
“Anyone who made erroneous decisions in the selection committee will also face consequences,” he stated.
Mohsin Naqvi discussed Shan Masood’s captaincy in Test cricket, mentioning that he held a video conversation with Masood to discuss improvements. Naqvi also mentioned receiving great feedback from past cricketers over Masood’s performance, and confirmed that he will remain as captain.
“There has been no decision made to dismiss Masood from his position as the Test captain of the national team,” he declared.
Regarding Wahab Riaz’s position as chief selector, Naqvio clarified that he did not appoint Riaz as the top selector, but rather assigned him the post of selector within the chief selector’s team.
