Farrukh H. Khan has resigned from his position as CEO of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
As per the official release from the PSX, Mr. Farrukh H Khan has formally resigned from his role as CEO of PSX in order to pursue alternative prospects.
The board has scheduled an urgent meeting today (Friday), July 05, 2024, to discuss his resignation. Any further news will be made soon, as stated in the PSX release.
Farrukh H Khan became a member of PSX in February 2020 during the Covid epidemic in Pakistan. Pakistan’s market was adversely affected by the pandemic, and there was also widespread panic in other regions. The FTSE and S&P indexes both experienced a decline. Several months later, the PSX became the focus of a terrorist attack which resulted in the deaths of three security personnel, as stated at the time.
The KSE-100 Index, the main benchmark of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), increased by 49.13 points, or a 0.06% change, and closed at 80,282.80 points on Thursday. This was compared to the closing value of 80,233.67 points on the previous working day.
During intraday trading, the PSX 100 index reached a record high of 80,888.86 points, while the market experienced a low of 80,134.89 points before ending on a positive note.
