SC requests information about Qasim Suri’s properties
Requests for reports on Qasim Suri’s properties were sent by the court to the federal and Balochstani governments.
Questioning the federal government and the FIA over Qasim Suri’s whereabouts, the court summoned a report from the agency.
Qasim Suri disregarded the court order and did not show up for court again, according to the bench’s ruling.
Under the leadership of Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, a bench of the supreme court heard the matter.
Qasim Suri wasn’t in contact with the former deputy speaker, according to Naeem Bukhari, the lawyer representing the speaker.
“He’s sat since the Supreme Court issued a restraining order,” Justice Faez Isa said. According to the Chief Justice, “Qasim Suri committed an unconstitutional step on the stay order.” According to the Chief Justice, “he rejected a no-confidence motion justifying by a resolution.”
The attorney for Qasim Suri, Naeem Bukhari, begged the judge to dismiss his client’s appeal and take Suo moto notice of his absence. He said, “The court ought to give me permission to leave the court.”
The CJP asked in a playful manner, “How and why, we ask such a beautiful person like you to go out of the court.”
Musarrat Hilali, the judge, questioned, “Why is Qasim Suri running from the court?” Naeem Bukhari answered, “I don’t know; I haven’t given him any contact.” Justice Hilali gave the option for you to leave a message for your client.
“The term that Qasim Suri served in the National Assembly is over.” Chief Justice said, “The term ended, but the Supreme Court did not reach a decision on the matter.
The case hearing was postponed by the bench for an epoch.
