AGP informs IHC that Balochistan Police are not pressuring for Sanam Javed’s transit remand.
The government’s senior attorney notified the high court that Sanam Javed was free to return to her home province.
In dismissing the petition, the court ruled that Sanam Javed’s arrest was illegal.
Judge Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzaib informed her attorney, “I have witnessed Sanam Javed using offensive language on the Internet.” Judge asked the attorney, “Are you guaranteeing that she won’t use such language?”
In court, the attorney promised that his client would never again use offensive language.
Following several detentions and re-arrests, the IHC on Monday ordered the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed.
Additionally, the police were not allowed to arrest Sanam Javed in any other case until Thursday by the IHC bench, which is presided over by Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzaib.
The PTI activist was brought by the police and was subsequently permitted to return home after being arrested in multiple May 9 cases. All of the cases against Sanam Javed were also requested by the court. A entire year’s worth of police records against the PTI activist was ordered to be submitted by the IHC.
On Thursday, Sanam Javed was ordered by the court to stay in Islamabad.
Balochistan police received the PTI activist earlier on Monday in connection with the vandalism case from May 9.
Following her appearance before the G-11 district court, Sanam was given over to the Balochistan police when the judge ordered a transit remand.
