Bushra Bibi has pleaded for case details, and the LHC is awaiting a response.
Tariq Saleem Sheikh, Justice, chaired the hearing. “Tell me the number of FIRs or inquiries that are made against Bushra Bibi,” the court said.
The LHC bench denied the petitioner’s request to be spared harassment. “We will review this matter once the response is received on July 26,” Judge Tariq Saleem Sheikh said.
“You did not make NAB a party in the petition,” Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh remarked to Bushra Bibi’s attorney. Attorney Ishtiaq A. Khan replied, “Yes, I will make NAB a party.”
“Then this case will be heard by a division bench,” Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh continued.
Additionally, attorney Ishtiaq A. Khan stated, “There is a petition for illegal detention.” The Punjab government attorney, however, said, “Then their matter is with NAB.”
The hearing has been postponed as the court requests a thorough report from all parties, including the government of Punjab.
Due to her and her husband’s arrests in a recent Toshakhana case, Bushra Bibi is presently incarcerated.
The change occurred when the appeals against their conviction in the Iddat case filed by former prime minister Imran Khan and his spouse, Bushra Bibi, were allowed by the Islamabad district and sessions court.
