The top human traffickers included in the Red Book are apprehended by the FIA.
The culprit, identified as Mazhar Iqbal, was taken into custody by the FIA team from Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore, according to a spokesman for the agency. FIA Karachi has five cases in which he was wanted.
Mazhar Iqbal had been evading authorities for the last eight years, according to the FIA, and had defrauded people out of millions of rupees by promising them jobs abroad.
Mazhar Iqbal was freed from prison after serving his entire sentence. But Karachi’s anti-human trafficking organization has since reopened the case and conducted additional research.
A highly wanted human trafficker whose name was on the FIA’s red book was apprehended in a different event.
Khurram Iqbal, a highly sought-after human trafficker with a name on the FIA’s red book for 2023, was apprehended by the Islamabad branch of the agency during an operation in Rawalpindi, which was overseen by Deputy Director Saim Sultan.
Khurram Iqbal had dealt with over five cases and was entangled in a web of human trafficking-related offenses. Also, there were more than eleven active investigations into his illegal acts by the government.
The accused who was detained participated in the fraud of gullible people by claiming to be able to help them travel overseas. He conned his victims out of millions of rupees under this false pretense.
The Red Book, which included the identities of the most sought people traffickers, was released by the FIA last year.

A number of cases have been filed against 156 well-known human traffickers in FIA human trafficking circles, and their names are listed in the Red Book.
Additionally, there are 20 people traffickers wanted in the FIA Lahore zone, 71 in the Faisalabad zone, and 34 in the Islamabad zone; in contrast, there are two human smugglers wanted in each of the Balochistan and KP zones.
