NAB summons officials from NICVD in a Rs4 billion corruption case.

The NAB has requested that the officers furnish data and present themselves before the bureau for an investigation. The administration has been requested to furnish data pertaining to recruitments, purchases, and pay.

The corruption allegations encompass misappropriation of funds, illicit hiring practices, and misapplication of salaries. The NAB has received a letter from the NICVD administration and is fully cooperating with the investigation.

A spokesperson for the NICVD stated that the organization is dedicated to ensuring transparency and has initiated its internal audit to proactively avoid such occurrences from occurring in the future. Furthermore, a committee has been established to probe the pilferage of pharmaceuticals.

The corruption watchdog based in Berlin has reported that Pakistan’s rating in 2023 was 133, with a CPI score of 29 out of 100. This is a two-point improvement, making it the highest score since 2020.
