Police in Karachi are cracking down harder on human traffickers.
The province’s Additional IGs, DIGs, and SSPs were all directed by IG Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, to take strong action against individuals engaged in human trafficking.
In addition to the traffickers, the instruction emphasized the significance of filing cases against their guardians and facilitators.
Authorities in charge of the police have issued a warning, saying that inaction on these offenses will be seen as complicity.
The Sindh police Inspector General (IG) had stated in April 2024 that the police force will be hiring 400 prosecutors in order to improve the effectiveness of the legal system.
Ghulam Nabi Memon, the Inspector General of Sindh, declared that he would be hiring 400 prosecutors to help the investigative Officers (IO) come to an acceptable conclusion during a meeting called by the Sindh Police to explore ideas for improving investigative and legal reforms inside the agency.
He highlighted how crucial it is for the Sindh police force to get digital and computerized, highlighting how contemporary technology is necessary to improve police efficiency.
His emphasis was on the importance of automating the lodge First Information Reports (FIRs) transmission process to prosecutors.
“The entire aid and resources required for the police department’s digitalization process have been pledged by the Sindh Government,” the Inspector General stated.
In light of their critical position in the legal system, he underlined once more how crucial it is to protect complainants and witnesses.
