To the Punjab government’s “bizarre” electricity assistance package, CM Murad responds
CM Murad Ali Shah stated at a ceremony in Karachi that they were caught off guard by these “strange” pronouncements. “The government of Sindh finds it challenging to respond to these absurd claims. I don’t want to get into politics, though,” he continued.
How can individuals find time to be on TV? asked the chief minister.
CM Murad Ali Shah continued, “My party chairman and Sindh information minister often get unhappy with me because I don’t appear on television to project the works being done in the province.”
When will he find time to work if he speaks on TV all the time, the chief minister inquired.
Prior to this, Mayor of Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab reacted to the Punjab government’s decision by stating that the people need long-term relief measures.
“There are a lot of solutions that come to mind when we (the Sindh government of PPP) consider assistance. After the people of Punjab have received respite for two months, what will happen? He inquired.
Judge Murtaza Wahab criticized the Punjab government’s strategy as well, arguing that leaders had to make long-term choices rather than “short-term” ones.
With an emphasis on helping low-income households, former prime minister and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif announced on Friday a significant relief for Punjab’s energy consumers.
The leader of the PML-N, in a news conference, said that customers who use up to 500 units of energy will be eligible for a Rs 14 per unit reduction.
In an effort to further aid the people, Sharif commended Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, for her efforts and revealed that she would be introducing a solar panel program.
The speaker went on to say that the solar panel project has been given Rs 700 billion by the Punjab government, which will assist cut future electricity costs even more.
The relief plan, which will come at a cost of Rs 45 billion to the Punjab government, includes a relief of Rs 14 per unit for consumers using up to 500 units.
