Rizwan Sheikh has officially taken on the role of Pakistan’s new ambassador to the United States.
On Wednesday, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, Pakistan’s ambassador-designate to the US, took on his new role and declared that his main goals would be to fortify the US-Pakistan relationship, fortify economic connections, and improve people-to-people relationships.
He emphasized the value of the Pakistani population in the United States, calling them the nation’s greatest asset, when addressing the mission officers.
According to Ambassador Sheikh, improving community service delivery should be a top priority and should be achieved at any costs. The community is a vital link in the relationship between Pakistan and the United States.
In this context, the envoy emphasized the need of pursuing goal-oriented diplomacy.
The ambassador arrived in Washington on Tuesday, and representatives of the Pakistani embassy and the US State Department met him at the airport.
It is relevant to note here that Rizwan Saeed Sheikh was named the new ambassador of Pakistan to the United States (US) by the Foreign Office of Pakistan.
The Government of Pakistan has chosen to select Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh as Pakistan’s new ambassador to Washington, DC. This was announced by Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the Foreign Office spokesman. She specializes in the Middle East and the SIFC.
Masood Khan, the current ambassador to the US, had a contract that expired in March and was serving on a three-month extension. June 30 was the end of the three-month prolongation.
