Pakistan-UK relations are important, according to DPM Ishaq Dar.
The Foreign Office released a press statement stating that the deputy prime minister emphasized the importance of a strong Pakistan-UK collaboration, promoting the comprehensive bilateral agenda, and ensuring peace and stability in the area.
Ishaq Dar also complimented Pakistanis who are British for their efforts to improve ties with their country.
The deputy prime minister said he was excited to work with Foreign Secretary Lammy on issues they both cared about, such protecting the environment, giving young people opportunity, and boosting trade and investment. Reiterating their goal to develop their deep, historical friendship into an improved strategic collaboration was his main point.
They spoke about common interest regional concerns and went over the whole range of bilateral relations.
Asserting the UK’s continued support for Pakistan during its term, Foreign Secretary Lammy congratulated DPM Dar on Pakistan’s election to the UN Security Council. As they get ready for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in October 2024, the two ministers also decided to stay involved.
Ishaq Dar is currently in the UK for a formal five-day visit, it should be mentioned. In addition, the deputy prime minister will meet with members of the Pakistani expat community and senior British officials.
Along with these meetings, Ishaq Dar will also speak with David Lammy, the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs, and his counterpart, UK Deputy PM Angela Rayner.
According to a statement from FO, the deputy prime minister would interact with lawmakers in the UK and leaders of the British-Pakistani community.
