The government’s delayed bill to change the constitution has Faisal Vawda fuming.

Vawda said that the government’s members are covertly dodging their duties, casting doubt on the government’s sincerity.

He requested that the media ask the government officials why the bill was not presented sooner. “Ask the government’s representatives first, and then I’ll respond,” he continued.

The government’s failure to placate Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) leader Fazlur Rehman resulted in another delay of the constitutional amendment bill earlier today.

After ten to twelve days, the measure would be introduced in the National Assembly. The ruling alliance failed to persuade Fazlur Rehman to back the bill.

It is important to note that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) has previously recommended that the federal government postpone the constitutional revisions’ sections pertaining to the judiciary.

Following a separate meeting with delegations from the government and opposition, JUI-F chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari discussed the proposed revisions to the constitution. The JUI-F leader emphasized that his party had not yet received the draft of the amendments.

The government team had been advised, Haidari stressed, to be patient and not rush the bill’s introduction into Parliament.
