Masood, the captain of Pakistan, supports the team before the “crucial” England Tests
Before a “crucial” three-match Test series against England that is set to start on October 7, Pakistani Test skipper Shan Masood threw his support behind the players.
A few days prior to the first home Test match against England, Masood gave a press conference where he discussed his team’s recent performances, especially the two-match home series against Bangladesh where the touring team made history by winning their first-ever Test series victory over Pakistan.
Masood remarked, “The losses hurt, but it’s important to support the team, especially during tough times.”
But the Pakistani captain underlined that supporting the players is crucial, particularly following defeats, calling it the key to long-term success.
After a loss, it’s simple to make adjustments, but Masood insisted that supporting our players is essential if they were to advance.
Along with this, the left-handed batter revealed that the Champions One-Day Cup preparations gave important information about the players’ level of fitness.
“It’s evident that improvements are required, as we’ve learned a lot about our physical and mental condition,” Masood said.
Pakistan must to increase their level of physical and mental fitness if they hope to become a top Test team. We should have training that is comparable to that of other elite teams worldwide,” he continued.
It feels “terrible” when the team loses, according to Shan Masood, who took over as Pakistan’s Test captain in November 2023 and has yet to win a match in that role.
“It hurts like hell to lose as a captain.” Masood said, “It wasn’t the best start, but failure breeds accountability.”
